The knowledge test for converting a foreign driving licence to a Japanese one (gaimen kirikae): 50 true/false statements, 45 to pass, since the October 2025 reform. Keeping left, give way to the left, parking distances, crossings, expressways and the 30 km/h residential-road rule.
