A writing task you can have marked

Dictation 1 · People

Ask someone to read this sentence aloud to you once, or read it once yourself and look away. Then write it from memory: “Washington was the first President.”

  • Write every word you heard, in the same order.
  • Do not abbreviate: write United States and President in full, not U.S. or Pres. Washington, D.C. is written as it is.
  • Start with a capital letter, write names with capitals, and end with a period. Numbers can be words or digits (fifty or 50).
